AIDAN SWEENEY

Meet

At just 14 years of age, Aidan has already packed a lot of hockey into his skates. Depending on the surface, you’ll spot him wearing #17 for inline hockey or #29 on the ice, both numbers becoming well known around the rink for the right reasons. He has been playing inline hockey for five years and ice hockey for three, and his love for the game grows stronger every season.

Aidan currently lines out with Kilkenny Storm U15s and U18s, showing maturity beyond his years and never shying away from a challenge (including playing up an age group).

Last year was a standout one. As part of the U15 Irish Saints Ice Hockey team, Aidan helped bring home silver medals from the SEDMHA tournament in Nova Scotia, one of the largest and most competitive minor ice hockey tournaments in Canada — an unforgettable experience and a huge achievement.

Closer to home, Aidan also struck gold with his U15 inline hockey team, winning the playoffs at SETU Arena. He continues to push himself further and is currently training with the U17 Irish Inline squad, gaining valuable experience at a higher level.

Away from competition, Aidan is a dedicated Edmonton Oilers fan and a huge admirer of Connor McDavid , a player who inspires his speed, determination, and love for the game (skills optional, McDavid-level talent pending!).

Aidan has a very exciting year ahead and will be travelling back to Nova Scotia this March, ready to take on new challenges, make lifelong memories, and proudly represent his club and country.

Thank you for supporting Aidan’s journey, every donation helps keep the dream alive, the skates sharp, and jerseys #17 and #29 exactly where they belong: on the ice and the inline rink.
