An Unforgettable Day at the Emerald Cup: Kilkenny Storm Girls Shine!

Yesterday 22nd February 2025 was one for the books! The Kilkenny Storm Ice and Inline Hockey Club girls, along with their friends, headed to Bangor for the annual Emerald Cup Ladies’ Tournament, and let me tell you, it was a day packed with excitement, determination, and some serious team spirit.

From the first puck drop to the final whistle, the girls were on fire! The energy on the rink was electric, and it was clear that everyone was giving their all. The Storm girls played with such heart, showing off their impressive skills and teamwork. Every game was a thrill, and the excitement only grew as the day went on.

By the end of the day, they had made it to the final—a showdown against the Sirens. The match was a battle of wills, with both teams bringing their A-game. It wasn’t quite meant to be for the Storm, but let me tell you, the girls left it all on the rink. The final score might not have been in their favour, but their performance was something to be proud of.

The trip home was filled with smiles, laughter, and a lot of happiness, even after the tough loss. They might not have taken the trophy, but they certainly left their mark on the tournament. And let’s not forget—Lia was awarded an All-Star spot, which was a well-deserved recognition of her hard work and talent! 😎🏒

It’s days like these that remind us why we love the sport. Win or lose, it’s about the memories, the friendships, and the passion for the game. A massive shout-out to everyone involved for making it such a special day.

Until next time, Storm—keep skating and keep shining!
